A fossiliferous gift that keeps on giving: another groundbreaking discovery made at Inner Meadow by Memorial University researchers

A Memorial University graduate student has discovered a new fossil species in Ediacaran-aged rocks from Newfoundland, dated to 551 million years old. 

Palaeobiology master of science student Heléna Muirhead-Hunt found the fossils at a site known as Inner Meadow in Upper Island Cove in Conception Bay, N.L., which is known for its exceptional preservation of soft-bodied organisms without shells or bones.

Marine Institute selected as approved supplier under Canada’s Defence Drone Initiative

The Fisheries and Marine Institute of Memorial University of Newfoundland (MI) has been selected as an approved supplier under Canada's Defence Drone Initiative (DDI), recognizing the institute's expertise in testing, evaluation and training through Stream 4 of the program.

Students and alumni invited to the Career and Graduate School Fair on Sept. 23

Memorial University and College of the North Atlantic (CNA) are once again teaming up to host the annual Career and Graduate School Fair.
 
The event will take place at the Field House on Memorial University’s St. John’s campus on Wednesday, Sept. 23, from 10 a.m.-4 p.m.
