Moose Hide Campaign Day is May 12, 2022. This is a day when all Canadians are called to join together to take a stand against violence towards women and children and to take practical steps in a collective journey of reconciliation. In recognition of this day, members of the Memorial community are encouraged to wear moose hide pins. Wearing the moose hide pin is one small way to show a commitment to stand up against violence and is an act of solidarity with women and children.

Moose hide pins will be available in the coming days at Juniper House (Indigenous Student Resource Centre) and the Sexual Harassment Office at the St. John’s campus, and through the Sexual Harassment Office or the Indigenous Resource Centre at the Grenfell Campus. Please encourage faculty, staff, and students to pick up a pin and to visit the Moose Hide Campaign website for more information on this important initiative. There are a number of virtual events taking place through the website, including some workshops that require registration.

Please help support this campaign and the prevention of violence.
