The celebration of diversity through the promotion of inclusivity is central to Memorial University’s commitment to academic excellence. Memorial has developed strategic frameworks in the three areas that are key to fulfilling the institution’s mission: teaching and learning, research, and public engagement. Inclusivity, particularly with respect to Aboriginal peoples, is an integral part of these initiatives.

Under the mandate of recommending enhancements to the recruitment and success of aboriginal students of all ages the Task Force Committee reports its advice and conclusions within the context of Memorial's mission to recognize the institution's special obligation to the people of the province and the priorities set out in the University's Strategic Plan.
