Fellows of the Royal Society of Canada
To be invited to become a fellow of the Royal Society of Canada is considered the highest honour that can be attained by scholars, artists and scientists in this country. There are over 2000 fellows nationwide who have been peer-elected for their remarkable contributions to the arts, the humanities and the sciences, as well as in Canadian public life. Fellows of the Royal Society are considered to be the best in their field.

2016 | Asking the Big Question featured keynote presentations by Sigurbjörg (Silla) Sigurgeirsdóttir, an Associate Professor of Public Policy and Governance in the Department of Political Science, University of Iceland, and Gordon Laxer, professor emeritus, University of Alberta and author of After the Sands: Energy and Ecological Security for Canadians.

2015 | Dialogue on Knowledge and Democracy, in conjunction with CBC Ideas and Memorial University, featured keynote presentations given by Harry Collins, a sociologist of science at the School of Social Sciences at Cardiff University and Sheila Jasanoff, a specialist in science and technology studies and public reason from Harvard University. |
The Royal Society of Canada (Atlantic) launched the New Fellow Public Lecture series in 2013 with the primary objective of promoting learning and research in the arts, the humanities and the natural and social sciences.
