Special Message from Dean Rohr

Special Message from Dean Rohr

Dear Students, Faculty, Coaches, and Staff of HKR,

With the recent conclusion of the winter semester, I wanted to take a moment to thank you all for your commitment, patience, and perseverance during such extraordinary times. All of you have taken these challenging times in stride, and while the transition has not always been ideal, your willingness to pull together and support each other needs to be commended. We have to continue to stay strong and continue to work together as best as we can.

Remote learning, at times, can present challenges. But I want you to know that we have been, and will continue to do the absolute best job we can to provide all students with meaningful education from afar. Our faculty and staff are working far beyond a typical workday to prepare video lessons, provide electronic support, reconfigure lectures to adapt them for remote learning, and trying to do whatever else possible to make sure that you get the best access to education.

Some of our students have completed their degrees this semester. I know this is not how you envisioned the conclusion of your program to be, but it’s important to understand that sometimes in life, there are bumps in the road that are unavoidable. Watching you all navigate through these difficult times has given me even more confidence in your abilities and I look forward to seeing what the future holds for our graduates. While Spring Convocation has been postponed, we hope you all join us at Fall Convocation so that we can celebrate your hard work and the completion of your degree.

To our returning students, I want to wish you well over the next few months and remind you that we will eventually get back to our normal routines. Until that time, please continue to do your part in keeping our community safe. Keep up with your studies and take care of yourself. Be Well.

Kind regards,

Dr. Linda Rohr
