Interpersonal Skills and Well-Being Workshops
Unit supervisors can request customized workshops on a variety of interpersonal skills and well-being topics — free of charge to employees.
Workshop topics fall into two main areas:

Power Skills Development, including sessions such as Accessibility for Everyone, Acknowledging Bias and Leveraging Microinterventions, Activating Your Active Listening, Communicating Effectively and Courteously, Mastering the Feedback Loop, and Teamwork Makes the Dream Work.

Health & Well-Being Support, covering topics such as Managing Diabetes (ABCs), Fueling Your Body & Mind, Maintaining Balance, Creative Relaxation Activities, and Self-Care Resources for Employees.
You can explore available topics or request a customized session using this form. You’ll be able to select from a list of suggested topics or request a consultation to tailor the session to your unit's specific needs.
Monthly Webinars on Diversity, Inclusion, and Well-Being
Employees are invited to join live monthly webinars hosted by Human Resources on topics including diversity, inclusion, mental health, and overall well-being.

Tuition Support for Academic Credit Courses
Eligible employees can take one Memorial University academic credit course per semester (up to three per calendar year), with tuition covered by the university through Human Resources.

These programs are designed to enhance instructional skills, integrate educational technologies, and foster reflective teaching practices.
CITL's professional development offerings for educators include:

IBM SkillsBuild
Through a partnership with IBM Canada and Memorial’s Centre for Analytics, Informatics and Research, employees have free access to over 1,000 online, self-paced courses. Topics include both IT and non-IT industries, along with professional skills like communication, collaboration, and critical thinking.
