Captain Randy Pittman

Captain Randy Pittman started his marine career in 1978, studying Nautical Science at the Marine Institute. Randy sailed Home Trade and Foreign Going on a variety of vessels including offshore supply, tankers, seismic, cargo, and fishing.

He obtained his Captain's certificate just before his 30th birthday. After sailing for many more years, Randy moved ashore as vessel and fleet manager
and completed his Masters in Project Management.

8 years ago, Randy joined the MI team and has dedicated his career to marine related training in Northern Canada. Based in Iqaluit, Randy is the Coordinating Instructor for projects in Nunavut and Nunavik and works closely with Nunavut Fisheries and Marine Training Consortium. Randy presently serves on the Federal Arctic Marine Advisory Council.
