There are certain perks to living in residence and we’re not just talking about mid-day power naps.

Living in residence provides you with a smooth transition into university life. Where you live during your studies will have a huge impact on your academic success and that’s why our residences were designed to accommodate a student lifestyle.

Location, Location, Location.

Roll out of bed and into class. Or first swing by the gym or pool for a morning workout. Whatever your lifestyle, living in residence means you have more time to do what you love. Say goodbye to congested traffic, long commutes or parking. When you’re just steps from anywhere on campus, you can go more places with less hassle. Enjoy quick access to classes, laboratories, the library, dining, on-campus jobs, fitness, sports, clubs, societies, social activities, events — the list goes on. With so much to do on campus, why would you ever leave? You don’t even have to go outside if you don’t want to. You can go almost anywhere on Memorial’s campus through the MUNNEL system — a network of underground tunnels and overhead pedways spanning more than 16,000 meters. Of course, it’s fun to venture off-campus every now and then. Thankfully, our residence is centrally located with easy access to almost anywhere in the city by way of main thoroughfares, scenic trails or the city’s metro-system.

But there’s more to easy living than just getting where you want to go quickly.

Flexibility

Life doesn’t always operate on a 12-month schedule. Student life is much more fluid and requires flexibility. Unlike off-campus housing, residence offers short 3-month leases to better suit the student lifestyle. This means you only pay for the terms you spend on campus, and you never have to worry about finding a subtenant. Fully-furnished accommodations make moving day a breeze, giving you even more flexibility in your living situation.

While you do have to sign a lease, you skip all the other hassles that go with renting. Don’t worry about keeping up to date with electricity, heat, or high-speed internet bills — they’re all included. And a wide range of on-campus dining options means you won’t have to cook — or clean a dish— unless you want to.

Some other perks of living in residence include access to:
