Bonfire List 2010

2010 Bonfires in Newfoundland & Labrador.

All Bonfires take place on November 5th, 2010 except where noted elsewhere by ***.


Eastern

Burin (6:00p.m.) Behind the municipal complex next to the softball fields.

Bay Roberts: (7:00p.m.) at the Community Gardens. Sponsored by the Town of Bay Roberts Special Event and Recreation Committees. Hot chocolate will be served.

Brigus (7:00 p.m.) 7pm at Bishop's Beach. Refreshments Provided.

Carbonear (7:00 p.m.) At the Lions Club/ Recreation Complex. A wiener roast will take place along with a contest for the best Halloween Costume. Call Rob at 596-7535.

Conception Bay South (7:00 p.m.) at Sgt. Ned Nugent's Park. Hosted by the CBS Fire Department. Hot chocolate will be available. Sponsored by the Town of Conception Bay South in conjunction with the CBS Fire Department.

English Harbour East (7:00 p.m.) Located at Barsaway.

Flatrock (6:30 p.m.) Located on the beach across from the Oceanview Park. Hot chocolate and hot dogs will be served.

Grand Le Pierre (7:00 p.m.) Will be located at the community ball field. Contact Willoughby Bolt at 622-2116 for more information.

Heart's Desire (6:30p.m.) At the local beach on Beach Rd.

New Perlican (7:00 p.m.) Will host their annual bonfire on Vitters cove beach. There will be a wiener and marshmallow roast for all kids in attendance.

Paradise (6:00p.m.) 68 McNamara Drive at the Rotary Paradise Youth and Community Centre. Contact 689-0609 for more details.

Port De Grave (7:00 p.m.) Located at the Old Ball field.

Pouch Cove- Flatrock (6:30 p.m.) Stiles Cove Recreational Complex, Pouch Cove. For more information please contact 335 2270.

Small Point-Adams Cove (7:00 p.m.) At Broad Cove Beach. Bring along a roasting stick for marshmallows and be prepared to be entertained as the Newfoundland Music sing-a-long.

Sunnyside (7:00 pm) Across from Boyd's about half a kilometre in to the pit. Chips and pop will be provided to all kids attending.

Torbay (6:30p.m.) Behind the Torbay town hall building. The Town of Torbay and Torbay Volunteer Fire Department invite you to enjoy some entertainment, hot chocolate, and mini-bonfires to roast marsh- mallows. This year they are having a ‘hug a mug’ campaign to reduce waste from plastic or Styrofoam cups. So bring along your mugs and get warm by the bonfire.

***Trinity (6:30 p.m., November 4th) At the Gravel Pit near the Fire Department.***

Upper Island Cove (7:00pm) The Upper Island Cove Fire Department and the Parks and Recreation Association will hold a community marshmallow / Weiner roast at the Fire Hall Parking Lot again this year to celebrate Bonfire night.

Free hot chocolate, marshmallows and wieners will be provided for all.

Whitbourne (7:30 p.m.) On the Council Grounds. Hosted by Whitbourne Fire and Rescue and Lions Club. Hot chocolate and hot dogs will be available. Please contact 709-759-2780 for more information.



Central

Dover (7:00 p.m.) Will be located behind the Loop Playground. Hot dogs and soft drinks will be available for children. For more information contact 523-2041.

Gander (6:00p.m.) A bonfire hosted by the Boys and Girls Club will be held adjacent to the Raynham Avenue ball field. Refreshments will be provided.

Grand Falls-Winsor (6:30 p.m.) Hosted at the centennial field parking lot. Free BBQ wieners and hot chocolate for all in attendance. Check out the mini fireworks display at 8:30 p.m.POSTPONED

Greenspond (6:30 p.m.) Located at the ball field. Treats for everyone!

Harbour Breton (6:30 p.m.) in the Ball field area. Contact 885-2354 for more details.

Hermitage-Sandyville (Time Not Confirmed) will be held at Sandyville Beach. There will also be hot chocolate and hot dogs for the kids.

Lewisporte (7:00p.m.) at the entrance of Woolfrey's Pond park. Complementary marshmallows, wieners, and pop will be provided. The event will conclude with a family fireworks display. For more details call 709-535-2737 or email specialevents@lewisportecanada.com.

Peterview (7:00 p.m.) Located in the Ball field area. Call 257-3856 for more information.

Point Leamington (6:30 p.m.) Located in the gravel pit. Please bring along a roasting stick and something to sit upon as Wieners and Marshmallows will be available for roasting. Also, Hot chocolate will be provided.

Salvage (6:30 p.m.) At the Wild Cove Community Park. Hot dogs, marshmallows, and pop are provided. Contact Maxine at 677-2260 for more information. This event is sponsored by the Salvage Recreation Comittee



Western

Channel-Port aux Basques (6:00 p.m.) Located adjacent to the Bruce II Sports Complex. Call Jerry at 695-7194 for more information.

Isle Aux Morts (6:00 p.m.) At the old dump site. Contact 698-3441 for more information.

Gillams (7:00p.m.) At the beach in front of the Community Hall.

Glenburnie-Birchy Head-Shoal Brook (7:30 p.m.) At Glenburnie Beach.

Reidville (7:00 p.m.) At the community ball field.

Rocky Harbour (6:00 p.m.) Located at Rocky Harbour Pit off of route 430.

Rose Blanche-Harbour Le Cou (6:30 p.m.) At the Slipway. Pop/juice and Chips will be given to the children in attendance. A guy will be made and there will also be some fireworks.




Labrador

Happy Valley-Goose Bay (6:00p.m.) Located behind the trade school and hospital sand pit.

Rigolet (7:00p.m.) Hosts their annual Bonfire Night on Sand Pitt Road. Come join in for some hot chocolate and roasted marshmallows.

Wabush (6:30 p.m.) Located at the snow dump which is adjacent to the Wabush Legion. Call 282-6685 for more details.
