National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE)

The National Survey of Student Engagement (NSSE) is administered online by the Indiana University Center for Postsecondary Research on an annual basis during the winter term. Memorial participates in NSSE every three years, having done so for the first time in 2008. The survey focuses on undergraduate students in their first year and those in their senior (fourth and later) year of study.

The NSSE contains a wealth of data and to facilitate analysis and garner understanding of  results, NSSE has developed the Engagement Indicators and the High-Impact Practices metrics. Details and definitions for these can be found on the NSSE Information and Definitions page.

Highlights

Memorial University participated in the 2020 administration of NSSE during the winter 2020 semester. Results have recently been released and this website will be updated in the coming months with more highlights and analysis.

Several questions can be considered "capstone" or "overall" experience questions and act as a good barometer of respondent satisfaction. Results from the past several years are in the charts below:
