The Learning Centre provides students the opportunity to enhance their academic skills and abilities through cultivating effective learning practices.  A variety of services have been developed, offered both in-person and remotely, to assist Grenfell Campus students with their academics. All services provided by the Learning Centre are free and include:

 Instructional Assistance

Full time, professional assistants will work with students one-to-one or in small group settings and focus on specific areas of concerns in math and writing. Additionally, a part-time writing assistant is available to help the WRSON students.  Drop by the Learning Centre, AS 234, to book your appointment for Math Assistance, or AS 2033 to make an appointment for Writing help.

 Supplemental Instruction (SI)

SI is a student led group study session organized to practice and review topics from lecture classes. SI supports selected high-risk courses and are led by trained undergraduate students (SI Leaders), who have successfully taken the course before.  If you are registered in a SI designated course, you will be informed in your first class of the semester and SI session times will be announced on your Brightspace shell.
 

 Peer Tutors

Peer tutors are available,for Grenfell Campus students, in a variety of subject areas. Students in need of tutoring will be matched with a student who has excelled in the requested subject area. Peer tutors are undergraduate or graduate student leaders who are expected to be organized, knowledgeable of course content, responsible, and compassionate.  To request a Peer Tutor, email gcstudentservices@mun.ca.
