Program Requirements

Major in social/cultural studies

A note to all students. Please be advised that our Program requirements have changed. Beginning in Fall 2016 our Program is more flexible and offers more choices.  Here's what current students need to know.

Students can choose to:

  1. Continue under the requirements of the year they enrolled.
  2. Follow the new Program.

          OR

Key changes to the new Program are:

  1. A new required course, SCS2000.  You must take this class to graduate.
  2. You must take (in addition to required courses) three classes at the 3000 or 4000 level

Please see the course cycling illustration for an outline of when courses will normally be offered. Note: many courses are only offered every two years. Take your required classes as soon as possible.

You are encouraged to consult with the Chair  or a supervisor to ensure that all requirements are met in a timely manner.
