What is academic integrity?

Memorial University’s values of integrity welcomes all its students, faculty, and staff to “be[ing] honest and ethical in all interactions, maintaining the highest ethical standards in teaching, research, public engagement, and service.”  It encourages its community to be honest, fair, responsible, and respect all the work completed.

The Memorial University of Newfoundland Code states that “students, faculty, and staff shall treat others with respect and fairness, be responsible and honest, and uphold the highest standards of academic integrity.”

Memorial University Libraries offer a multitude of academic integrity support to students. When submitting papers, students are encouraged to access the library's Academic Integrity Checklist (PDF).
