SUBJECT: PSA: SPARKS Literary Festival taking place this weekend

Memorial Universitys Faculty of Arts is sponsoring the fifth annual SPARKS Literary festival on Sunday, Jan. 19, from 10 a.m.-6 p.m. in the Suncor Energy Hall, School of Music, on the St. Johns campus.
The festival is divided into four sessions, each of which will consist of a lively mix of various genres and a combination of readings and discussion. The authors taking part are Neil Bishop, Paul Bowdring, Chris Brookes, Anne Budgell, Patrick Cotter, Michael Crummey, Mary Dalton, Elisabeth de Mariaffi, Marjorie Doyle, Mike Heffernan, Carmelita McGrath, Shannon Page, Chad Pelley, Jean M. Snook, Katie Vautour and Claire Wilkshire.
Books will be available for sale and local magazines and letterpress publishers will be displaying material. An evening reception will follow the day-long event. Admission is free and complimentary parking will be available in lot 15B.
In addition to readings and exhibits, the recipient of the third annual Cox & Palmer SPARKS Creative Writing Award will be announced at the festival, as will the winner of the SPARKS nature poem contest.
