SUBJECT: Nora Duke, Fishers'Loft to be recognized by Memorial's business faculty

Business leaders Nora Duke and John and Peggy Fisher will be honoured by Memorial Universitys Faculty of Business Administration at its annual Partners Celebration on Thursday, May 8.
Ms. Duke, president and CEO of Fortis Properties, will receive the 2014 Alumni Honour Award. Ms. Duke (B.Comm.(Hons.) 83, MBA 89) has worked with the Fortis Group of Companies for 28 years in a variety of senior leadership and executive positions.
The Fishers will be presented with the Gardiner Centre Newfoundland and Labrador 2014 Entrepreneur of the Year Award for Fishers Loft in Port Rexton, Trinity Bay. The inn began as a four-room bed and breakfast in 1997 and has grown into a 33-room inn with a restaurant, executive conference centre and art gallery with 20 employees.
Members of the media are invited to attend the Partners Celebration, which is the business facultys annual celebration that brings together members of the faculty and business community with students and alumni to pay tribute to those who have achieved excellence in business while using their skills and expertise to contribute to their peers and communities./
Partners will begin with a cocktail reception at 5:30 p.m. at the Sheraton Hotel Newfoundland. The awards presentation will take place at 6:30 p.m.
