SUBJECT: MUNdays come to a close on the St. John’s campus and Marine Institute

On Tuesday, Oct. 22, the university-wide Health Challenge is on. This year, the Wonderbolt Circus will perform to inspire us all! The spirit of the circus will get the entire Memorial community’s energy flowing at the Field House from 11 a.m.-3 p.m. while we put in a few laps around the track. In 2012 the Memorial community walked a total of 4,796 laps around the Field House track. We shattered the 2011 record and we want to break 2012’s this year.
Tuesday is also I ♥ Touque Day! Once again this year, Distance Education, Learning and Teaching Support (DELTS) will collect hats, mitts, scarves and other winter items for those who need a little extra help staying warm this winter.
With its 50th anniversary just around the corner, the Marine Institute is celebrating by creating a time capsule to be buried on campus in 2014. Everyone is invited to bring an item to place in the time capsule during the barbecue lunch from 12-2 p.m. with their name, hometown and program name.

Back on the St. John’s campus, at 2 p.m. I ♥ MUNdays will come to an official close at the Field House where the winners of this year’s Spirit Award and its $1,000 prize will be announced. Don’t fret, though – MUNdays will be back in 2014!
