SUBJECT: PSA: Memorial University calls for donations in aid of Street Reach

DATE: October 19, 2011

During I Love MUNdays, Memorial’s annual fall celebrations Oct. 20-25, the university will partner with Street Reach by collecting items for vulnerable youth.
“Street Reach is a fantastic program that truly helps at-risk youth, and we are so proud to partner with them on this initiative,” said Penny Cofield, experiential learning coordinator with Student Affairs and Services.
Street Reach is an outreach service that connects with individuals who are not able to meet their immediate needs. Services include day and evening street outreach in the downtown area of St. John’s and office followup support. They also provide food, basic care items, condoms, blankets and support to youth and adults in need.
There are donation boxes located throughout the St. John’s campus this week, complete with a list of most needed items.
The boxes are located in the following offices and will be picked up on Thursday, Oct. 20:
• Alumni Affairs and Development - 20 Lambe’s Lane
• Answers – UC-3005
• MUNSU – UC-2000
• DELTS – ED-3000
• Campus Housing - Hatcher House
• Career Development and Experiential Learning – UC-4000
