SUBJECT: Memorial’s Labrador Institute to hold public seminar series

Memorial University’s Labrador Institute is inviting residents of the Big Land to participate in a public seminar series.
The series of public presentations will travel to several communities in Labrador during the next five weeks. The first session in the series, taking place in Labrador City, will begin today, Thursday, Feb. 10.
All sessions will be conducted between 10 a.m.-4 p.m. Lunch will be provided.
Introduction to Community Research: A Public Seminar Series is being offered by the institute with support from the Social Sciences and Humanities Research Council of Canada (SSHRC).
Designed to assist community groups interested in undertaking research, the one-day sessions are organized to introduce community members to research methods, the role of universities and private consultants and the ethics of carrying out research.
Participants will have an opportunity to see a variety of Labrador Institute products of research, including recent books and early MUN Extension films.
