SUBJECT: Grenfell - Annual "I Fell for Grenfell" celebration starts next week!

There’ll be dancing, running and the throwing of pies next week as Grenfell College once again celebrates the creativity, diversity and ingenuity of being part of Memorial University.
“I Fell for Grenfell,” Oct. 23-27, is the Corner Brook campus’ version of I Love MUNDays, which also takes place during that time on the St. John’s campus.
"It’s an annual celebration of the people, services and spirit that make Grenfell College such a special place to be,” says Beth MacNeil, co-ordinator of I Fell for Grenfell.
While the pie throwing session is restricted to student participation (and is “targeted” at faculty and staff), there are plenty of opportunities for the public to come up the hill and join in the celebration.
Two Qi Gong sessions focusing on the power of Qi (universal energy) will be held Wednesday, Oct. 24, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., and 12:30-1:30 p.m. Later that afternoon at 4 p.m. the official launch of I Fell for Grenfell will be held at the GCSU Food Court, followed by the annual Campus Dash and BBQ. Anyone is welcome to register and run or walk the route. And at 7 p.m. that night, Dr. Rudy Sookbirsingh will give a thought-provoking presentation on “Climate Change – Will It Affect Us?” The talk begins at 7 p.m. in AS375 of the Arts and Science Building; refreshments will be provided, compliments of the Grenfell Research Office.
On Thursday, Oct. 25, the public is invited to attend the annual International Night, a celebration of traditional food, song and dance. It will be held in the GCSU Lounge, via the Arts and Science Building, 6-8 p.m.
The final I Fell for Grenfell events are family oriented and are both taking place on Saturday, Oct. 27: the Western Regional School of Nursing’s Teddy Bear Clinic and the Grenfell Art Gallery’s Hauntingly Boo-tiful Halloween Fun Family Art event. If Teddy isn’t feeling well, being him/her to the clinic for a check-up! The clinic will be open 12-3 p.m. in FA223 (off the Fine Arts Atrium). And the Halloween Fun Family Art will allow families to create their own boo-tiful masks, hats, costumes and decorations! It’s happening 1-4 p.m. in the Fine Arts Atrium.
