SUBJECT: Faculty of Medicine celebrates 40th anniversary

Note to editors:
Media representatives are invited to attend the Faculty of Medicine’s 40th anniversary celebrations on Monday, Oct. 22. The day’s activities run from 11:30 a.m. to 6 p.m. and include a special tribute to the late Dr. Ian Rusted, founding dean of the medical school. Lt.-Gov. Edward Roberts will speak about the role he played as provincial minister of health in the development of the Health Sciences Centre.

Launch of the Virtual Exhibit: “The Early Days of the Medical School at Memorial University”

A Tribute to Dr. Ian Rusted

Tribute speakers: Dr. Axel Meisen, president of Memorial; Dr. Albert Cox, former dean of medicine; Dr. David Hawkins, former dean of medicine; Dr. James Rourke, dean of medicine.
Special guest speaker: The Hon. Edward Roberts, Lt-Gov. of Newfoundland and Labrador.
