SUBJECT: Research symposium on genomics

A research symposium titled Innovations in Genomics Research: Implications for Health Services and Policy will be held Oct. 19 at the Fairmont Hotel in St. John’s. The symposium is being hosted by the Newfoundland and Labrador Centre for Applied Health Research and features a day of presentations and discussion on emerging issues in genomics and genetics research and the impact of this research on decision making in health policy and health services.
Experts from across the country and abroad will join researchers from Memorial University for this event to discuss topics such as population architecture and genetics research, gene discovery research in founder populations, clinical applications of new genetics and genomics research, and ethical challenges at the interface of genetics research and clinical practice.
