For Researchers

We offer a full line of research supports for researchers with active appointments or affiliations within our faculty. These range from resources to help you find funding, navigate research funding submission processes, and using your funds at your own speed to more hands on guidance through meetings and consultations for planning your research funding applications, and even projects over the longer term. We also work closely with other Memorial offices, as well as HSS departments. If we're not responsible for something, we likely know who is best positioned to help you out.

There are also guides, forms, and policy resources; FAQs; and How do I?... pages with more in-depth support for specific scenarios and needs.

If you're looking for key resources - check out our new Grant Library, which offers redacted examples of successful grants for some of the most widely accessible competitions we support. We also have a page outlining those main competitions so you can have a quick glance at what might work for your project and capacity for the coming year or so.

Meet with a Grants Facilitation Officer

HSS Research Support Services offers various levels of assistance in planning your research and funding trajectory and on individual funding proposals. The HSS Grants Facilitation Officers (GFOs) are available to meet with you at any stage of planning and execution of your research program, project, and funding goals. You may schedule a meeting with a GFO to:

  • discuss your research career goals;
  • ask questions about submission procedures;
  • map out a schedule of proposal submissions;
  • discuss strategies for how to build a solid research CV;
  • discuss the scope of a research project and match it to funding programs;
  • discuss feedback from an unsuccessful grant proposal and strategize for resubmission;
  • learn about the various types of research funding available for your research project or programme;
  • etc.
