Located in St. John's, Newfoundland and Labrador, the Memorial University Botanical Garden is the province's premier botanical garden. Our 110 acre property offers 3.5km of nature trails, a large cultivated garden area with multiple themed gardens, a public greenhouse and an alpine house, special events, workshops, public art, camps, and so much more. And that is only the public-facing Garden!

Our natural areas, including a number of different ecosystems (fen, bog, boreal forest, pond, barrens) are an excellent resource for researchers, and we are pleased to welcome many research projects each year. As well, we see many students come to the Garden with their professors for some hands-on learning during their university coursework.

Through community programs, workshops, guided tours, school visits, public lectures, and seasonal events, the Botanical Garden creates opportunities for people of all ages to engage with science, sustainability, and local biodiversity outside of traditional academic settings. It functions as a living classroom and gathering place where research, education, and community interests intersect, helping Memorial University share its expertise while listening to and learning from the public.
