Coffee Club is held every Friday afternoon from 3:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. in the ISA Social Room, Corte Real 1000H.
The purpose of Coffee Club is to relax after a busy week and connect with friends. Coffee Club is very informal and is open to the campus community, including spouses and alumni. One of the best ways to battle homesickness and adjust to life on campus is to socialize. At Coffee Club there is always interesting conversation, lots of laughter and refreshments. You will have the opportunity to learn about Newfoundland and hear fascinating stories from other international students. So, when you are planning your class schedule remember to keep some time free on Friday afternoons for Coffee Club. It's a great chance to make new friends from all over the world!
Usually there is a new theme to Coffee Club every week reflecting local or international holidays or showcasing talents and interests of students. Past themes have included:
- Kite building
- Coffee mug painting
- Silly personality quizzes
- Numerology and Palm Reading
- Annual events such as a Halloween Pumpkin Carving Contest, a Christmas Party with Newfoundland traditions, Valentines Cake Decorating, St. Patrick's Day Bingo and Blueberry Pancake making
