Immigration Advising by Certified Immigration Consultant
The International Student Advising Office (ISA) is pleased to announce that we will be hosting a series of Immigration Information Sessions that will be presented by a registered and certified immigration consultant with the Immigration Consultants of Canada Regulatory Council (ICCRC). Ms. Myers has extensive experience within the immigration and foreign worker domain, including a 35-year career at Service Canada where she most recently served as a Business Expertise Consultant, interpreting policy and delivering presentations on the Temporary Foreign Worker Program province-wide. Ms. Myers works with Work Global Canada, an organization that provides human resource management solutions to employers. Work Global Canada employs several immigration consultants and works with employers, government and educational institutions in the delivery of its services.
Immigration Information Sessions will be held on a weekly basis from September 2, 2014 to September 19, 2014 and will include two one hour group sessions on a specific area of Canadian immigration programs specific to international students each week, followed by individual scheduled appointments where students can meet with Yvonne one-on-one to pose their immigration questions.
Students should note that these advising services are limited to a student’s status as a temporary resident in Canada. This would include advice on how to obtain a study permit, how to renew a study permit, work permits available to students and their spouse/partner, and requirements for obtaining a temporary resident visa.
