Change in Application form for Visitor, Study and Work Permit Applications Made Inside of Canada
Effective July 31, 2012, Citizenship and Immigration Canada (CIC) has introduced new application forms for visitor, study and work permit applications made inside of Canada. The changes are to the mailed in applications and does not affect the online application process through My CIC. The change requires that the user validate the forms which generates a 2D barcode similar to the Temporary Resident (TRV) application. CIC will still accept applications made using the older forms until November 1, 2012. To read the Operational Bulletin announcing this change, go to http://www.cic.gc.ca/english/resources/manuals/bulletins/2012/ob450.asp.
The ISA has received information that some students are experiencing difficulty in using the new forms to apply for coop, off campus and/or post graduate work permits. If you experience difficulty, we advise you to apply online where available, or to use the old application forms for the time being.
