We are happy to welcome Fr. Joe Mroz to the Chaplaincy team, as our new Roman Catholic Chaplain!
Catholic Chaplaincy on MUN provides the presence and ministry of the Church (Archdiocese of St. John's) on campus. The MUN Catholic Community (see our Facebook page) meets generally on Thursday evenings at 6:30 for fellowship and socializing. CCO (Catholic Christian Outreach) works with students in faith development, opportunities for spiritual and corporal works of mercy, and leadership. We overlap somewhat with Catholic Young Adults of Newfoundland (CYAN) which enables students to meet the larger Catholic community of St John's.
Catholic Chaplaincy is part of a great team of interfaith chaplains in the Student Support and Crisis Management office. We are here for all and any students, regardless of religious affiliation or none. "Earth's crammed with heaven, and every common bush afire with God"!
We currently offer Mass daily during the school year at noon, on the 5th floor of the University Centre. That's where chaplaincy is right now, but we will be moving to the 3rd floor soon (beside Answers). We gather on Sunday at St Pius X Church at 7 pm for Mass. The Chaplain is here also for spiritual conversation, Confession, and in general to be YOUR priest at MUN!
