Information Sessions

National and international organizations from a wide-range of industries and business sectors recruit Memorial graduates. They often hold on-campus presentations about their organization and the opportunities offered to new graduates. Information sessions are also held by graduate schools, volunteer associates and companies offering part-time work for current students.

These events are an opportunity for you to ask questions, make a personal contact with the organization, and to submit a résumé.

Even if you are not seeking post-graduate employment, these sessions can be used to gather information and find out what employers are looking for in new graduates so you can be better prepared when you enter the job market. Be sure to note their contact information, chances are they will be recruiting in the future.

Tips for information sessions:

  • Be dressed professionally. Business casual is recommended.
  • Have copies of your resume handy. If you have business cards bring those as well.
  • Attend one of the Marketing Me workshops to learn about networking and making the most of your time with the recruiters.

Cancelled Sessions

In the event that Memorial University is suddenly closed or shut down for any reason (Weather, power outage, etc) information sessions scheduled by Career Development and Experiential Learning will automatically be cancelled if they take place during the time the University is closed.

Example: Memorial University is shut down for the morning but reopens at 1pm. A session scheduled from 12pm-2pm would be cancelled but a session scheduled for 5pm would go ahead.
