Attention all science students!!! The ScienceM@tters program now holds reoccurring weekly Career Development Workshops located in various boardrooms in science departments. Below is the schedule which will be frequently updated throughout the semester. So, be sure to check back! More updates to come.
Science students will have an opportunity to practice pitching their skills and experiences to employers from various companies in the science field. During the event, groups of students and participating employers/ recruiters will be matched up at tables and get acquainted. The students will move to another table approximately every 10 minutes to meet another employer(s) at the next table until all students have met all employers.
During the winter semester of 2016 there will be a“Science Career Talk” for science students whereby science alumni will come in and speak about what career path they have pursued and how they navigated their job search with a science background. Since at least 70% of jobs are not advertised, networking often plays a major role in how graduates find a career that fits their interests and values.
All science students are welcome to book a Career Planning Consultation with Kristen Roberts, Science Career Development Cooridinator. These appointments can help you develop career goals and learn more about where your Science degree can take you. Appointments are booked through the My MUNLife portal in my.mun.ca.
