Coldest Night of the Year
During the Winter 2015 semester, members of the Student Volunteer Bureau participated in raising money for the Coldest Night of the Year. The Coldest Night of the Year is a walking fundraiser that raises money for the hungry, homeless and hurting youth in 80+ communities across Canada. The money raised in St. John's this year went to Choices for Youth, which is an organization that works with hundreds of at-risk youth across the province each year.
The Student Volunteer Bureau alone raised more than $1000, through individual donations and a team pancake breakfast fundraiser, which was hosted at Memorial University.
Choices for Youth - Christmas Fundraiser
During Christmas 2014 the Student Volunteer Bureau had cans around the University Center collecting money for Choices for Youth. Choices for Youth is an organization that works with hundreds of at-risk youth across the province each year. Over $100 dollars was raised for them!
