Chancellor Earl Ludlow, P. Eng. (ret’d), ONL, has been an active member of the Memorial Community since his time as a student. He holds bachelor of engineering and master of business administration degrees. He is a former member of the Board of Regents, serving from 2002-08, and a former member of the Faculty of Business Administration Advisory Board, Faculty of Engineering and Applied Science Advisory Board and Alumni Association Executive. He and his wife, Valerie, co-chaired the Havin’ a Time reunion in 2008, and he was awarded the Alumni Tribute Award for Outstanding Community Service the same year.
Role of the Chancellor
As the ceremonial head of the university and ambassador to our community, the chancellor presides over convocation and confers degrees.
After being elevated to university status in 1949, Memorial held its first degree-granting convocation on June 3, 1950.
