Research Interest:
As a historical geographer studying the North American Arctic, my interest lies in the intersections between work, environment, and governance, with particular attention to the sociotechnical and ecological systems of industrial mining and the long-term legacies of extraction. I focus on comparative and critical methodologies to examine how extractive landscapes are produced and lived on the ground, and how these histories continue to shape political and environmental relations in northern regions.
Research Areas:
historical geography; environmental history; critical resource geography; materiality and material landscapes; work and labor; extractive landscapes; infrastructure and energy; Arctic and northern studies; territorial governance
