Research Project:
I am broadly interested in understanding how species, ecosystems, and natural processes are responding to climate-induced changes. My MSc research will examine the post-fire recovery and renewal of forests in Newfoundland following the wildfires that occurred in Summer 2025. Fire is the dominant disturbance regime in the boreal forest, and plays a significant role in shaping plant composition. My project will investigate the establishment and recruitment of vegetation species to contribute to a growing knowledge of how fire events affect ecosystems in Newfoundland.
Research Interests:
- Biogeography
- Disturbance ecology
- Global and environmental change
- Forest ecology
