Dr. Loleen Berdahl


Dr. Loleen Berdahl is Professor and Head of Political Studies at the University of Saskatchewan. After completing her PhD at the University of Calgary, she worked for ten years in the non-profit sector; since entering academia, her research has focused on federalism and regionalism in Canada, and western Canadian electoral politics, and professional development for undergraduate and graduate students. Loleen’s most recent book is Work Your Career: Get What You Want From Your Social Sciences or Humanities PhD (2018, University of Toronto Press; co-author J. Malloy), and she is the recipient of three University of Saskatchewan teaching awards and the Canadian Political Science Association Prize for Teaching Excellence. She lives in Saskatoon with her husband, their twin teenage daughters, and a vocal cat, all of whom continue to wonder why they live in place with over five months of winter.
