The Biochemistry Society had their end of year formal on Friday March 22nd. This event also serves as a farewell gathering for the graduating class and they celebrated with numerous fun awards for achievement in academics, sports, and other areas of class involvement.
Breanne Coady, an M.Sc. student in Dr. Rob Brown’s research lab, won the Wrestler of the Year award in March, as part of the MUN Athletic Awards for this year. You can learn more about Breanne’s involvement in the sport in a recent MUSE article. Our congratulations to Breanne on this award!
A small biochemistry group of employees met again in late March with the consultants for the planned new Core Sciences Building. Information already gathered for specific departmental needs was reviewed at this meeting. Planning is still in early stages, but progressing. Details on the building can be found on a variety of sites including the Science news site.
