Dr. Elaine Dodge and her husband Lloyd Lynch are proud to announce the birth of their daughter Rachel on March 1, 2012. Elaine was a research assistant in the Brunton lab before going on maternity leave.
A search committee is in the process of being formed in order to seek a new department head. Further information is available from the Dean of Science office. Dr. Phil Davis’ term as Acting Head finishes the end of 2012, unless a new head is appointed earlier.
Students who applied for summer jobs in Biochemistry research labs under the NSERC Undergraduate Student Research Awards program should find out their results late March or early April. Last year four students held these awards in this department and this year we hope to match or surpass that.
Graduate Student Chandani Dinesh finished her MSc program and started her PhD program in mid-March. Congratulations on this achievement,Chandani! Her supervisor is Dr. Janet Brunton.
The Biochemistry Society had their end of year formal on Friday March 30th. This event also serves as a farewell gathering for the graduating class and they celebrated with numerous fun awards for achievement in academics, sports, and other areas of class involvement.
