Nominate

Memorial University will accept nominations for the election of six alumni positions for its governing body, the Board of Regents from March 18 to April 14. 

Please note, the nomination collects the following information: 

  1. Personal information – includes address, contact details, degree information, student number and current occupation of the nominee;
  2. Nominee biographical/campaign statement (250 words or less) – to be posted on Memorial’s website and should provide an overview of who the nominee is, including: a statement of intent; their vision to achieve the strategic commitments of the University; and the value/experience they would bring to the board
  3. Nominee high-resolution photograph (JPEG/minimum 300 dpi) – to be posted on Memorial’s website alongside the nominee’s biographical/campaign statement. 
  4. Three letters of support from fellow alumni – signatories must include their name, year of graduation, student number and program of study. Please note that these letters will not be made public or posted online.

The nomination form will be LIVE on March 18.

Memorial University’s Board of Regents includes six alumni representatives who are elected by their peers, the alumni of the university. The successfully elected representatives will serve a three-year term from Sept. 1, 2026 – Aug. 31, 2029.

Memorial’s Board of Regents oversees the management, administration and control of the property, revenue, business and affairs of the university. Sitting on the Board of Regents is an incredible opportunity for Memorial alumni who wish for a more active role in the governance of Memorial University.
