The vice-president (administration & finance), leads the administrative portfolio of the university which includes the functional areas of human resources, finance, information technology, facilities, risk, and information access and privacy.
Kent Decker, B.Comm. (Hons), Memorial, C.A., has held the role of VP (administration & finance) since 2004. Reporting directly to the president, he is a member of the Vice-Presidents’ Council, and works closely with senior administrators of the university. Mr. Decker has championed several mandates during his tenure including sustainability, health and safety, emergency management, and succession planning to name a few. As VP (administration and finance) his current goals and objectives include achieving sustainable budgets; planning for infrastructure; and fostering the administrative portfolio leadership team.
The vice-president (administration & finance) is supported directly by an associate vice-president (facilities), a director - office of the vice-president (administration & finance), and an internal consultant. The office is completed with two senior secretaries who ensure effective daily operation of the office and flow of information.
