The vice-president (administration & finance), leads the administrative portfolio of the university which includes the functional areas of human resources, finance, technology and information management, facilities, and risk.
Kent Decker, B.Comm. (Hons), Memorial, C.A., has held the role of VP (administration & finance) since 2004. Reporting directly to the president, he is a member of the Vice-Presidents’ Council, and works closely with senior administrators of the university. Mr. Decker has championed several mandates during his tenure including sustainability, health and safety, and emergency management to name a few. As VP (administration and finance) his current goals and objectives include achieving sustainable budgets; planning for infrastructure; and fostering leadership in the portfolio.
The vice-president (administration & finance) is supported directly by an associate vice-president (facilities), and a director - operations. The office is completed with two senior secretaries who ensure effective daily operation of the office and flow of information.
