President: Ankan Mohajan

Ankan Mohajan is a graduate research assistant and teaching assistant at the Department of Civil Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland. He is working in the Geotechnical Engineering research group, exploring the behavior of sand in direct simple shear test. Ankan has completed his Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Khulna University of Engineering and Technology (KUET). At Memorial University, Ankan is the Departmental Representative of the Graduate Students’ Union (GSU). He has been working as a Vice president of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE – MUN Student Chapter) since 2023. Previously, he volunteered as the Secretary of the European Association of Geoscientists and Engineers (EAGE – MUN Student Chapter) and as a Secretary of the Teaching Assistants’ Union of Memorial University of Newfoundland (TAUMUN) in the 2022-2023 term. Ankan has received the Graduate Student Union Award for Excellence in Teaching Assistantship from Graduate Students’ Union (GSU) of Memorial University in June 2023. Recently, he has been elected as the President of the Teaching Assistants’ Union of Memorial University of Newfoundland (TAUMUN).

Vice President: Saifa Anzum Prioty

Saifa Anzum is a Ph.D. candidate in civil engineering pursuing research in the field of geotechnical engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). She completed her undergraduate degree in civil engineering from Bangladesh University of Engineering and Technology (BUET). Upon graduation in 2019, she was hired as a lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at the University of Information Technology and Sciences in Bangladesh, where she taught geotechnical and structural engineering along with other core civil engineering undergraduate courses. Although she started as a Master's student at Memorial University in 2021, her exceptional academic performance led to her transition to the PhD program.

Beyond her academic accomplishments, Saifa has actively engaged in various leadership roles at Memorial University. Currently serving as the Vice President of the Teaching Assistants' Union for the 2023-24 term, she has demonstrated a solid commitment to the welfare of the fellow students. During her tenure at TAUMUN, she pledges her complete dedication to contribute to the betterment of Teaching Assistants at MUN.

Secretary: Sudipto Nath Priyom

Introducing Sudipto Nath Priyom, the distinguished Secretary of the 2023-24 Executive Committee at TAUMUN. Sudipto is a dedicated professional with a strong academic background, having earned both his bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Civil Engineering from Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology (CUET) in February 2017 and May 2021, respectively.

Embarking on his career journey, Sudipto commenced as a Lecturer in the Department of Civil Engineering at Port City International University (PCIU) in March 2017 after completing his bachelor’s degree. Demonstrating his commitment to the field, he later joined CUET as an Assistant Engineer in the Directorate of Planning and Development in February 2018. During his tenure at CUET, Sudipto actively contributed to various construction-related projects, showcasing his expertise in the field.

In pursuit of academic excellence, Sudipto commenced his second master’s degree at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN) in January 2023, focusing on pipeline/soil interaction. His passion for research and dedication to advancing his knowledge highlight his commitment to the field of Civil Engineering.

Beyond his academic and professional pursuits, Sudipto Nath Priyom is an active member of the TAUMUN community, serving as the Secretary for the 2023-24 term. Director of Social Affairs: Shishir Kumar Sikder Amit

Shishir Kumar Sikder Amit is a dedicated individual currently pursuing a Master of Engineering at Memorial University of Newfoundland (MUN). Originally from Bangladesh, Shishir has a strong academic background and a passion for contributing to the community.

Currently serving as the Director of Social Affairs at MUN, Shishir plays a crucial role in enhancing the social aspect of campus life. He likely organizes and oversees various social events in this position, creating a vibrant and inclusive community for students. Shishir's dedication to both academic excellence and social engagement showcases his well-rounded approach to personal and professional development.

Before joining MUN, Shishir was actively involved in the CUET (Chittagong University of Engineering and Technology) career club, where he gained valuable experience and honed his leadership skills. His involvement in the CUET career club reflects his commitment to fostering professional development and networking opportunities for fellow students.
