Nunatsiavut speaker to discuss sustainable Inuit communities
How do we move beyond talking about sustainable subarctic communities? How do we transition a vision into integrated action that addresses the major challenges facing the north, shifts standard of living and improves quality of life?
To discuss these issues we have invited, Tom Sheldon, Director of Environment of the Nunatsiavut Department of Lands & Natural Resources. Based out of Nain, Tom Sheldon is committed to environmental research and associated outreach and education opportunities along the coast of Labrador. Under his lead the Nunatsiavut Government started the SakKijânginnatuk Nunalik (Sustainable Communities) Initiative.
We encourage everyone with and interest in our provinces' Subarctic to stop by for a chat and some coffee. The event is hosted by MUN Arctic and will take place on Friday, November 22 at 1pm in SN 2018 (Department of Geography).
