As director, I chair the ISER/J R Smallwood Foundation Executive Committee and work with staff and faculty in the main office and at Memorial University Press as well as with members of the Awards Panels and grantees. 

I have a long association with ISER which began when I sat on the ISER Awards Panel and Executive Committee in the 1990s. I later served as Academic Editor of Memorial University Press (then ISER Books). My research in Newfoundland and Labrador Studies focuses on mobility justice in relation to ferry commuting and winter pedestrianism, mobile jobs, and interconnections between tourism and pilgrimage.
