Conche - French Bread

During the warmer months of the year, the French Shore Historical Society bakes bread in an outdoor oven, to share with visitors to the museum. This French style bread is served hot, right from the fire, and represents a traditional way of bread baking that very few people practice. In the spring, 2010, the FSHS held a bread baking workshop for members of the community. From mixing and kneading dough, to monitoring the fire's temperature, every part of the process was explained and demonstrated.
