Research Projects:
My research focuses on revegetation in Newfoundland’s post-wildfire landscapes. I am particularly interested in studying if forested and unforested landscapes are maintaining ecological inertia (are they maintaining the natural forest cycle), or is increased fire severity affecting the forests’ ability to regenerate. My research seeks to understand how climate change is affecting wildfire frequency and severity in central and eastern Newfoundland and quantify plant community change.
