Geographers Engage

Department members Carissa Brown, Cédric Brunelle, Charlie Conway, Keith Storey, Jamie Ward, and Ross Wilson along with post-doc Arnaud Vandecasteele, graduate students Monica Engel, Beth Spencer, Carly Sponarski, and undergraduate Kyle White wowed the public with discussions of research projects within the department. Topics included biogeography, human-wildlife interactions, regional development and economic geography, and the use of Autonomous Underwater Vehicles in marine mapping. The crowd was particularly interested in hearing about historical events as documented by annual growth rings of a section of a local tree on display, and examining a black bear pelt while discussing human dimensions of wildlife with the graduate students.
