Lisa Browne
Lisa Browne, BA, MBA leads Memorial University’s Advancement and External Relations portfolio with a deep commitment to public purpose and transformative impact. A proud alumna of Memorial, Lisa brings decades of leadership experience across the public, nonprofit, and academic sectors, and a steadfast belief in the power of education to change lives and communities.
In her role, Lisa oversees strategic communications and marketing, alumni engagement and donor relations, government and community partnerships, centennial celebrations and strategic planning. Her leadership is grounded in collaboration, transparency, and a strong sense of place.
Lisa previously served in a combined executive role overseeing administration, finance, and advancement, where she helped guide Memorial through a period of significant institutional change. Her return to the Advancement and External Relations portfolio reflects a renewed focus on building purposeful partnerships and amplifying Memorial’s impact across Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.
Lisa’s career has been shaped by a commitment to innovation, and community. She is a former CEO of Stella’s Circle, a nationally recognized social justice organization, and has served on the boards of the National Gallery of Canada and Mental Health Research Canada. Her contributions have been recognized with numerous awards, including recognition as Atlantic Business Magazine’s Top 50 CEOs and Memorial’s Alumna of the Year.
Her work remains central to the university’s vision of delivering social and economic value to Newfoundland and Labrador and beyond.
