Lisa Browne (BA, MBA) is Memorial University's vice-president (administration, finance and advancement).

She has a long history with her alma mater, including serving on various advisory boards, alumni chapters and the Board of Regents. She has been a lecturer in marketing at the Faculty of Business Administration and has taught in the MBA-Social Enterprise program.

Prior to her role at Memorial, Lisa worked in arts administration and the health and social sector. She was most recently CEO of Stella’s Circle, a social justice community organization, where she was twice recognized as one of the Top 50 CEOs in Atlantic Canada by Atlantic Business Magazine and received the Gardiner Centre Entrepreneur of the Year Award.

Lisa is an active community contributor and currently sits on the boards of the National Gallery of Canada and Mental Health Research Canada. She has been recognized for her community leadership with the Queen Elizabeth II Diamond Jubilee medal, a Paul Harris Fellowship from the Rotary Club of St. John’s and as Memorial University’s Alumna of the Year.

Lisa was initially appointed vice-president (Advancement and External Relations) in August 2021. In March 2023, she was appointed interim vice-president, Administration and Finance, in addition to her VPAER role.

On Dec. 7, 2023, the Board of Regents approved the created of the combined role of vice-president (Administration, Finance and Advancement) on the recommendation of the president. Lisa was appointed to the new combined role at the same time. More information is available in the Gazette.
