Global travel ban lifted

The Government of Canada has lifted its full travel advisory which recommended the suspension of all non-essential travel abroad. International travel for university business can resume, provided the travel follows Memorial’s Travel Outside of Canada Policy.

Some countries continue to have high numbers of COVID-19 cases and community transmission, and travel advisories may be in place for individual countries. Anyone considering international travel should consult the Government of Canada’s travel advisory webpage, and book fully refundable travel.

Travelers will be required to complete the pre-departure session available through the Internationalization Office and must confirm that they carry travel health insurance covering COVID-19 related expenses.

Employees must also follow the General Travel Policy, ensuring their unit head is aware of their travel.Travelers must have completed the full series of COVID-19 vaccination at least 14 days prior to travel.
