CITL's Winter 2026 Book Club

CITL's Winter 2026 Book Club is now accepting registration for its first cohort, which will begin in February 2026. To register for the book club for Writing Rediscovered by Elizabeth Wardle, please complete the Qualtrics form linked below.

The Winter 2026 edition of the CITL Book Club provides an opportunity for Memorial colleagues from across all disciplines to explore key ideas about writing, reflect on our own practices and experiment with adaptable strategies we can bring back to both our courses and our own writing processes.

The book club is open to faculty and instructors from across Memorial's campuses. Participants will be provided with a copy of the book to use for the semester. A limited number of spaces are available on a first-come, first-served basis.

The CITL Winter 2026 Book Club will involve four hybrid meetings, held between February and April 2026. The book's author will join the group discussion for the fourth meeting.

Writing Rediscovered by Elizabeth Wardle

The selection for the CITL Winter 2026 Book Club is Writing Rediscovered by Elizabeth Wardle.

Elizabeth Wardle describes Writing Rediscovered as "a short, accessible, research-based book written for a broad audience." In the book, she tackles common misconceptions about writing by countering them with research-based ideas. Throughout the book, readers are encouraged to reflect on their own writing experiences and fill their process toolbox with new tools and behaviours.

Elizabeth Wardle is a scholar of teaching, writing and systemic change with more than 20 years of experience as a teacher, teacher-trainer, faculty development leader, workshop leader and speaker. She has served as the Roger and Joyce Howe Distinguished Professor of Written Communication and the Director of the Howe Center for Writing Excellence at Miami University since 2016.
