Making Learning Inclusive: Accessibility in Brightspace for Instructors

Accessible course design ensures that all learners, regardless of their abilities or circumstances, have equal opportunities to participate, learn and succeed in a course. Whether you are teaching online or on campus, applying accessibility principles to your Brightspace course can help create inclusive learning experiences that support all students.

Brightspace offers a wide range of built-in accessibility features that ensure all learners can fully engage with a course. Some of the topics we will discuss in this session are:

  • Best practices for designing accessible content (e.g., using alt text, captions, headings).
  • Tools and tips for testing and improving course accessibility (e.g. accessibility checker).
  • Real-world examples and common challenges.

This session will be hosted in Webex. It is recommended that you attend this session using Chrome, Microsoft Edge or Firefox.

Registration is required for this event.
