Earth Sciences Student to Attend S-IMEW

We are proud to announce that fourth year undergraduate honours student Mervin McDonald has been selected to attend the seventh annual Student‐Industry Mineral Exploration Workshop (S‐IMEW) hosted by the Prospectorsand Developers Association of Canada. Mervin is completing his honoursthesis this semester under the supervision of Drs. Steve Piercey and Graham Layne on the Ice volcanogenic massive sulfide deposit in the Yukon.

S-IMEW takes place in Sudbury, Ontario and runs from May 4‐17, 2013. This exclusive workshop will host approximately twenty-six selected senior Earth Sciences students from various Canadian post‐secondary institutions for two weeks of hands‐on learning and interaction with representatives from the Canadian mineral exploration community. We know Mervin will represent our department well. Good luck Merv!
